baccarat rules

The game Baccarat have simple rules, the outcome is measured by the card's points. The cards have the following points: cards from 2 to 9 are worth their face value, the 10 and all face cards(J, Q, K) are worth zero points and the Aces are worth 1 point. The players calculate their hand by taking the sum of all cards modulo 10 and this is their final score, the module 10 means that after adding the card's points, the tens digit is ignored. For example if a player have a hand which is consisted from 3 and 6 is worth 9 (3+6), and a hand consisting of 5 and 9 is worth 4 (5+9 = 14 = 4) after the first calculation we have a sum greater than 10 so we ignore the first digit in this sum. If a hand is consisting of 4 and 6 then its worth 0 (6+4 = 10 = 0), the highest score which can be achieved in Baccarat is 9 (an Ace and 8, 4 and 5 or 10 and 9). The different variations of Baccarat have different rules and flow of play.

Punto Banco (North American Baccarat)

In this variation the players can bet either on the Banker or the Player, which are only designations for the two hands dealt in each game.

The cards are dealt first one to the Player then one to the Banker, and again one to the Player and one to the Banker; the cards are all dealt face down. After the Player and the Banker have two cards each, they turn over and sum the score of their cards, after that the croupier call the total( i.e. 6 to the Player and 5 for the Banker ). From this position the Tableau or table to play determines if there is a need for further cards to be drawn, if yes then the Player and the Banker draw a single card or stand pat and again the hand with the highest total wins.

If at the initial draw, the Player or the Banker have a hand with score of 8 or 9 then no other cards are drawn, else the game proceeds like this:

If the Player has a score of 0 to 5, he draws a single card, if the Player has score of 6 or 7, he stands.

The Banker's play depends on his hand, on whether the Player drew a card and what is the drawn card. These are the possible cases:

- the Player didn't draw a card, if the Banker has a score (at the initial draw) 0-5 then he draws a card, if he has 6-7 then he stands.
- the Player draws a 2 or 3, if the Banker has a 0-4 he draws, if 5-7 then he stands.
- the Player draws a 4 or 5, if the Banker has a 0-5 he draws, if 6-7 then he stands.
- the Player draws a 6 or 7, if the Banker has a 0-6 he draws, if 7 then he stands.
- the Player draws an 8, if the Banker has a 0-2 he draws, if 3-7 then he stands.
- the Player draws an ace, 9, 10 or face-card, if the Banker has a 0-3 he draws, if 4-7 he stands.

The croupier will deal the cards according to the tableau and the croupier will announce who is winning - the Player or the Banker. In case of even money or 1-1, the...
