pay winners from bets in the center of the table.
Each employee makes sure that the other is paying out the winners correctly. In some cases on the Craps table there will be only one base dealer, which renders to only half of the table to open for players.
For the fairness of the game, the dealers will insist that the shooter will roll out with one hand and that the dice bounce off the far wall surrounding the table. If a die leaves the table, the shooter will be asked to take another dice, or to use the same die ( only after it passes a inspection from the boxman ).
There are also rules which are not connected to the actual game of Craps, but used in the casinos like some sort of etiquette. Some of them may vary for each casino, but most of them will be the same and they are important as the actual game rules.
The shooter is not supposed to handle the dice with two hands ( such as passing them from one hand to another before rolling ) nor take the dice past the edge of the table. The only way to change hands before throwing is to set the dice on the table, let go and then take them with the other hand.
When the player is throwing the dice, its expected that he hits the farthest wall on the opposite side of the table, a throw which do not hit the wall is referred as the "Mallenberg Rolls". Most casinos allow a roll that does not hit the wall, but the dice must be thrown past the middle of the table, if the roll does not abide to these rules, its called "no roll" and thus the came out is not approved. Also the dice must not be slid across the table and must be tossed. Typically, the players will be asked not to throw the dice higher than the eye level of the dealers.
After a throw the dice can land on players bets on the table, the dealer's working stacks, on the marker puck or one die on top of the other, but can't land in the boxman's bank, the stickman bowl ( where the extra dice are kept) or in rail around the top of the table where players chips are kept.
If a dice come to rest or land leaning against chips, markers, or the side of the table, the number that will be used to make a call, is the one that would be on top if the object that the dice is leaning on is removed.
If the dice (one or both) hit a player or dealer and rolls back on the table, the roll is legitimate if the person who was hit did not interfere with either of the dice, but in some casinos this throw will be "no roll".
Dealers are not allowed to hand chips directly to a player or touch a player. When a "buying in" (paying cash for chips) is at the table, the players lay down the cash on the layout, which the dealer takes and then place chips in front of the player.
If there is a "No Call Bets" on the craps table layout, that means that the players are not allowed to call out a bet if they don't have at least the right amount of chips on the table. In case of chips...
