The game of Craps can be played either in a casino - called Bank craps or on the streets - thus called Street Craps. We will go first with rules for the Bank Craps.
When you play this game in a casino, you and other players are playing against it. At first the casino covers all of the players bets and set its own odds for the payout. The players take turns for rolling two dice, the player which is currently rolling the dices is called the "shooter" and the others players make bets of the shooter's dice rolls. The game is played in rounds - the first roll in a new round its called "come-out roll" and the second round resolves with a point or seven being rolled.
When a player wishes to be a shooter, he must be able to bet the table minimum on the "Pass" line or the "Don't Pass" line ( sometimes these lines are called with: Win (for Pass) and "Don't Win" (for Don't Pass) ).
After that the shooter picks two dice out of five, which are presented to him by a stickman (a casino employee). Then the player rolls the dice and thus a new round has began. If the come-out roll is a 2, 3 or 12, its called "craps" the players are losing their pass line bets and the round ends. The came-out roll continues until a point is established. If the came-out roll is 7 or 11, then its called a "natural" and resulting in a win for pass line bets ( and loss to the don't pass bets ) and the shooter continues with the come-out roll to establish a point. If the numbers of 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 are rolled on the came-out, this number becomes a "point" and the came-out roll is over. The dealers will move an "On" button (or puck) to the point number which now identifies the point number to all players at the table. Now the shooter continues to roll until a point is rolled again or a seven. If the roll is a point ( numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 ) then the pass line bets are wining and the don't pass line bets are losing. If the roll is a seven (it's called a "seven-out")
the pass line bets loses and the don't pass bets wins. A seven-out ends the round with the dice being passed clockwise to the next player who wishes to become a shooter.Players can make bets for each round or each roll, most bets are on the way the round will end ( point comes or a seven-out ). Other bet can include betting on a specific total being rolled out or a specific total being rolled before a seven. The bets are made with chips on specially made craps table.
A Craps game is run by four casino employees :
- boxman : he guards the chips, supervises the dealers and handles coloring out players
- two base dealers : they stand to the boxman
- stickman : he stands directly across the boxman. His role is to take the bets in the center of the table, collect and give the dice to the shooter, announce the results after a roll and directs the base dealers to...
