Here we will describe some different situations and will give tips on the best approaches for each one:
-
In case you have high pairs and strong hands in the beginning you will want to play fast before the flop. The effect of that approach is that there is a bigger chance more money to be put on the table and in the same time the players with weak hands are more likely to fold. Do not forget that even if some player has bad cards before flop there is no guarantee that he will not be lucky with getting a strong flop. So the less players always means less competition.
-
Always go for high straight if you have the chance. For example if a 5, 6, 7 flops you will want to play the 8, 9 but not the 3,4 or 4,8.
-
Do not rush into the game and always consider your cards when playing. You just have to know that there are unplayable cards sometimes – for example low to mid unconnected cards or even suited cards that can not or hardly can flop a straight. For instance: the chance to hit a straight with having the both end cards is minimal (e.g 2,6 or 4,8 ... ).
-
be cautious when playing low pairs in the beginning. Low pairs include 2,2 or 3,3 or 4,4 or 5,5 or 6,6. You better just fold in case you do not flop quads or a set.
-
Be aggressive if you have a multi-way draw after the flop. If after the flop you have an option to make a straight and a flush or a straight and trips for instance, you will want to raise your hand.
-
If you've passed through a garbage flop you will probably want to flop (especially if somebody else raises), but if you decide to play in case nobody else raises you better bet two high overcards or of course an Ace (in casef you have one).
-
Consider your chances as high if you have three in a row before the flop (e.g. 4,5,6 or 8,9,10 or 9,10,J or whatever) as they can be easily turned into a straight that has the power to easily overtake many other good hands.
-
Be cautious, be sly ! Always check the number of the other raisers' chips – you should know that most of the players that are close to all-in most often rush their betting. In fact it is because they do not have any other options – that's the usual "sink-or-swim" approach and it is not necessary the player to have a strong hand.

Tthis tip may sound a little strange to some people but in fact is one of the most important among all listed here. It says: Get busted, Get caught Bluffing (of course not very often but just once in a while). That helps you to get unpredictable and you will have more chances to vary you play after that. And the more – those bluffs may even bring you some extra cash. Remember that bluffing is a big part of the whole game and makes it interesting.
