Establishing a good strategy is something that every good player should pursue no matter what kind of gambling game he/she plays. First of all there are some factors affecting the whole gameplay that should be noted. Those factors include the number of players, how active the players are (if they tend to be more passive or aggressive ), what your bankroll is, and last but not least – how much you are eager to risk. Here we will describe each factor separately:
1) Number of players: When playing with many people, lets say ten, it is very likely that someone else on the table will hold a strong hand in the pocket in a short-handed game. The more people you are playing with the more cautious you should be as the chances someone’s pre-flop to fit the flop will be much greater. More people always means bigger competition.
2) How aggressive/passive the other players are: In case you’ve been playing on a particular table for a while and you have noticed that some of the players is raising every had pre-flop, you will definitely want to play tighter. Just let him to play his game and to win the big deal and get him busted when you have a solid hand in the pocket pre-flop.
3) Bankroll: If you have a small amount of money left you need to be careful. The best approach in a case like that is to play all-in before the flop is dealt. You just need to do it at the right moment. Do it when you have a good hand and bet on it, hoping to get some other players with bigger bankroll involved for a larger pot.
4) Your position: The players that are in late position are always given the chance to manipulate the pot size much more than the players in early position are. You just have to know that the good gambling player should take the advantages the position he/she is in offers him/her.
5) RISK: Nobody can say that to risk is much better approach than not to risk or vice versa. Every player has his own style. But no matter what kind of player you are (more or less risky) you should know how to estimate your bets depending on different situations. For example (if you are a risky type) when you want to go for larger pots but in the same time you do not mind a greater chance for loosing a few hands you should want to aggressively rise pre-flop, especially if you are in late position. If you are not able to take high risk you should probably want to follow the "flat tactics". That means that you will be as selective as possible pre-flop and this way you will be grinding out winning hands from time to time and that can eventually be the better approach in the longer term.
